The hayloft picture is one I took about 40 years ago on my grandmother's farm. Usually a warm, friendly place, I decided to change the mood for Halloween.

First I used anisotropic diffuse and KTP electrify to soften the picture, then added moonbeams with radial blur on a dupe layer. Changed color and blended with luminosity mode. Added more KPT electrify to add glow to the moonlight.

Added a "scary" black cat I photographed last year and a witch apparition, which is actually the demon from a former submission:

Used some layer adjustments to give the cat a halo and make the witch translucent, then applied KPT electrify a final time to make the "haydust" in the air sparkle and add more glow.

I really love the cat. It should definitely keep the rats out of the barn! Very spooky.

Heh, heh, heh! Love the way you mixed the photo elements - you can submit this one to at least 3 different challenges.

I think that the Electrify worked great.

And is that a hay against the right wall, or are those ghosts rising from the floor??? First class.

Hey, I recognize the hayloft and that's not easy from how well you've changed it. That's so cool how you made it glow like that. It really adds to the spooky look.

Thanks, guys, glad you are "spooked."

The purplish glow reminded me of my distant youth...anyone else remember "black light" parties? Eerie effect. Do the kids still use them for Halloween parties?
