Hi Folks
I've been working on sketch techniques and thought this one would look good as a sketch. Here are my stepsl

1. Sharpened using usm.
2. Searched internet for schooner and added as layer.
3. Created layer with schooner above whale and scaled schooner to suit.
4. Created layer on whale layer and removed schooner from in front of tale.
5. flattened image, and desaturated with channel mixer.
6. duplicated layer and ran pencil02 filter. Set layer to overlay and adjusted opacity.
7. flattened picture. Duped layer and adjusted brightness.Flattened again.
8. Added new layer on top of stack and filled with white. Created layer mask and removed white over picture with wet brush as low opacity.
9. Flattened, Added new layer Filled with pattern. Set to overlay and adjusted opacity..
10. Added noise and adjusted opacity..

Thats it. Had fun.

Wow, Jerry, excellent! Love the addition of the boat on collision course...very clever.

The only thing missing is the smile on the whale's face (but we know it's there)!

That Pencil2 is turning out to be a pretty neat preset! Very creative idea, which you pulled off deftly.

Lovely sketch effect, and your addition of the boat is so well done!

That works on every front. The B&W, the grain, the edging, the story. Excellent!
