Good job in bringing out the detail-I would love to see the steps you took to get this.

Not to many. I used a tool in Photo 7 called bandage tool for the face and then the clone tool for the surrounding area. I used the curves tool eyedropper to adjust for color cast and the band to adust for lighting. added contrast and cropped. I trie to keep the look of the times, kept the graniness. I have another post this time I adjust for graniness and used a lighting effect. So many variations, Its hard to choose.
