Well this is my second post. After doing all the color correction and retouching the background, I decided to crop it, throw out the color and take a different approach. I felt like doing something different. It's not much but I like it.
I desaturated it and darkened her eyes and other facial features. Then i sharpened them all. I softened the rest of the photo with gaussian blur. I used the clone tool to patch her face and the healing tool to just clean up the photo in general. Added a kid type drawing to the paper she holds, and thats about it.

That turned out real nice in black and white. With that old time tv in the background it looks like it should be black and white. Like the soft focus also. Excellent job.
