The only picture I had handy with a door or window was this one...not the best choice. I'll have to look for a doorway. But it was interesting to do for practice.

The picture was first changed from a plain photo to a drawing/painting, then I overlaid an embossed wall layer over it to spread the wall texture over the picture. I used a small smudge tool to smear the paint into the crevices of the brick where the sides of the window were unnaturally straight. Before merging, I used a scatter brush eraser to remove some paint, to make it look weathered since it looked too neat.

Excellent job technically - blending the two images. But first of all this has soul. To me its a image of a boy not a wall, but the wall does something great to it.

Well done Phyllis - this is really realistic. The wall is just right - texture wise.

I like the effect that changing the image into a drawn picture brings to this.
