I pretty mush did what others did with a few aceptions.

Once I colorized the shirt, I ran a difference clouds filter over the H&S layer, then faded it to give the shirt a dirty look.

I put a glare on the medal on his chest so it would show up just a little more.

I painted black on the skin layer where his facial hair was so his beard stayed white. I left the hat alone, but colored the band.
Oh, & I know I probablly shouldn't have, but I thought that stain on his pants was a distraction, so I took it out. I chose to darken the background, then threw some lighting on the picture, and finished with a high pass blended to soft light.

Looks good. I debated about the stain on his pants (actual stain on pants or damage to photo?). I agree that it looks better without it.

Very nice color. I like the sun beaten brown skin color you gave him. Looks real natural.

He has the same face but a totally differnt look. MOre rough and tough then Rustic. REal nice.
