i used an image of a large glass ball/ornament to start along with a graphic of a snowflake with a face. i bleached out the ornament and promoted the face to a layer onto the ball. i adjusted the contrast and smudged the edges, lightening them a bit as they were way too dark. i used and reused the aetherize filter and then softened and pushed the colors around until i had the feel i wanted. i cut and pasted some fingers at the top and then adjusted the light on them so they matched the rest of the image. i illuminated from the top left and then softened the entire image.
