Boy:
Lasso out the boy.
Duplicate, invert, keep face from
the original. Merge.
Adjust contrast, color balance.
Insert into background.
Duplicate, adjust brightness and contrast,
so that bright white appears.
Merge using 'lighten only' -mode.
Shadow:
take boy, color him blue.
Rotate, flip etc. Insert random white
brush strokes, merge using 'darken only' -mode
and some value for transparency.
Merge all objects.
Half the person on the left is there
on purpose for composition.. 
I know there is a problem with light coming
from different angles in the two pictures,
but.. :I

The addition of the person along with the shadow of the boy help to make this look like a real scene. Nicely done.
