Nice restore job, however, no brushes or tools such as the cloning tool were allowed on this one.

Uh, exactly opposite of the challenge. You were allowed to use filters and blend modes and anything that affects an entire layer at once, but were not allowed to work on individual parts of the image, so that eliminates hand tools.

The old guy cleans up nicely though, doesn't he?

Don't feel bad. I spent a little time making masks, then for some reason I went back to read the challenge. So I wasted a little time. But I needed the practice anyhow. But you did an excellent job as far as a restoration goes.
