Had to laugh! You and I must have posted at just about the same time. Here I was telling my husband --- look I kept just about the whole photo ---just could not get THAT right hand to work. Then I see your post! WONDERFUL -- I felt much better when I read you had to go through 500 hands to find the right one. I just cut that puppy out! lol
Love what you did - just a great job all around. Learned some steps to take in the future from your post.

Excellent job. Skin looks great. I love your new background...flowers blend so well with Mom's shirt, and you fit them into it beautifully. And such attention to detail...you even found a new hand...wow! Great work!

Matt,
I love the new background. What a beautiful place and such a wonderful choice as the new background. Great job extracting the mother and daughter too. One minor point though, the mom’s feet are dangling in the air and not placed on solid ground. So the next image might be her falling off the stairs
I love your description of being a surgeon on this one. I bet you had to go through 500 photographs to find a hand. Nice job bringing back the blown out details in the hand. The hand is at a slightly different angle that makes it a bit unnatural, but it is extremely close and I am very impressed that you went to all the trouble to find one. Wonderful work!

Many thanks to all who commented on my submission.
Having other eyes look at my work and give comments
and suggestions help and encourages me in my work.
I enjoy looking at other members work. It's great seeing dozens
of members work on the same photo and all the different
approaches and techniques. I've learnt a lot from everyone here.

Beautiful work. I loved it so much I had to look and look to find something amiss. The woman's foot is not resting on step! Now THAT would be a challenge.

The baby looks fine but isn't it just me? the mom's face looked like she's wearing a mask of her own face. the whole thing made it look fake.
