This is the first time I tried to "draw" anything original in PhotoShop. Forgive me!!!

I started with an inspiration photo of Mike the Cat. (It's the closest thing sitting on my desk.) I studied him closely, then drew a rough sketch. Then I used a small chalk brush set to a low opacity and just sort of built up Mike's coloring in layers. Each layer would get a little darker until I felt like he was structural enough.

Then I used the blur tool to blend him all around and to simulate the feel of fur.

Went back in with a small hardedged brush and cleaned up his eyes a bit.

Duped the original, ran it through a spatter filter, masked it, then painted in a light background at very low opacity. That's the only filter I used.

This isn't that great, but it was a good learning experience!

Wow, that turned out great! I really love the fur and the vibrant green eyes. I can almost hear him purring! Great job!

Thanks!! I'm not much of a drawer, even on paper, so that's espcially nice to hear. I love this place!!!

Thanks Wanda and TwinB!

He's a great subject...best cat I ever had. He's pretty unimpressed with his portrait, though.

Thank you all so much! I just might have to practice drawing things more often.

Excellent work, themanda.

The cat's fur looks fantastic, and that's not easy to do.

Wonderful job.

Good colour scheme and very nice appeal.
That is the Identity.
