Hi all. long time no see ;-)
I saw this beautiful couple and thought I should try. As usual it is very hard explaining what I do, as I tweek and try and retry with a lot of different parameters. The gratest challenge on this was to get the skintone right, and I'm still not sure about that.

I used layers on almost everything, as it is easier to control the strenght of the sffect with it. I made a layer for their heads, excluding the hair, to work seperately on the skintone. I used Saturation, "Variations...", curves, levels, contrast in several steps on the skin. Rubber stamp to remove the color flaws, the dogde tool to brighten the whites in the eyes.
A seperate level on the background; "Variations..." to tone down the color cast, blured and darkened it a bit.
Seperately worked on their clothes with the same tools.
I used the erasor tool to prevent any "bleeding between the layers.

Finally I used a soften action on the whole photo, and on the soft layer erased the eyes, lips and small details like some hair curls, nose edge and jewelery to make it look sharper. USM and resize.

It looks great Trine. You captured the tones wonderfully. It is a well done retouch.

I just discovered this site and your retouch. It really is a great job. Just wondering if it would look more "natural" if the ladie's skin tone were a slightly lighter shade than the man's shade.
