I decided to replace the drab background.
I had an old postcard, which I scanned.
It seemed an appropriate background
that would blend well with Tess.
I extracted Tess and moved her to the new backdrop.
All was well so far.
The dress Tess was wearing was relatively intact.
But her face was badly damaged.
The eyebrows were just a blob, had to redraw them.
The eyes were tough and the lips were no picnic either.
The more I tried to restore the harder I found it to
retain the youthful face in the original.
I spent a lot of time on the face, at least one and a half hours.
As for the hair, it was too tough so I just darkened it.
