This is my very first post and I am fairly new to retouching. Please post comments! Helpful advice is more than welcome.
After work the colors by creating mask for Dress, tree, walls, carpet, rug, and Mom. Then adjusted Hue/Saturation.
Created mask for her arms and face, created new layer, then bluured and set opacity down.
Cropped, then expanded canvas size to give border found in most older photos.
I did not have as much time to play with as i would have liked. Maybe 1 hour. (1 Late hour)
Anyway. Let me know!

1 hr ! unbeleivable. But looks really nice. I don't have any great suggestions, but you could reduce the brightness of mom a little and also sharpen the image.
