This one was mostly all color balancing. I balanced the picture as a whole as much as I could, then isolated the important sections, like skin, dress, rug, carpet, wood, etc and adjusted those colors separately. After that I added a little bit of saturation to battle that washed out look.

Nice job removing the cast.Since this is a retouching challenge, it would not be required that you must maintain the integrity of the original photo very strictly.Going by that philosophy, it would not be out of place removing the shoes and other distracting stuff.Even if you do not clone them out, you can crop the image to a smaller size.
