Looked up MG history and discovered that this MG (probably the first model) was referred to as Old No. 1.
I also found this challenge to be a lot harder than it looked, a lot more cloning than I expected.
1. Converted the image to grayscale
2. Used a cloning layer to fix up the cars, street, and buildings
3. Selected individul objects and placed them on separate layers and then applied the color using a color blending mode. Spent a lot of time trying to get the paint/finish on the car to look natural, especially the upper hood area
4. Added a cuves layer to bring out more tonal contrast
5. Added an unsharp mask with a radius of 1 and amount of 70%, and added a layer mask with hide all, and painted in sharpness to certain areas of the photo (tires, car lines, etc.).

Alan

The paintwork!
The tyres!
The spoked wheels!
Oh and that polished brass radiator!!!
It looks better here than it does in real life.
Absolutely incredible.

Steve:

You're comments are really appreciated! I think it's great that you have a family connection to the building of the original MG, and what a nice photograph to show this connection.

That car nearly drove off my screen. Nice work on people and faces too.

The accent on the cars makes your eye go from the strong colors to the subjects around..... I like the balance and the way the color flows with this.
