Wow! That's fantastic - I think the best yet (no disrespect to the others). I'd love to see some more on how you did this - I know the answer is probably "with lots of time, effort and talent", but maybe a tutorial on the hair or some specific detail like that?
Really outstanding, anyway...

This is a more detailed description of how I did it:
I started by changing the curves to get the skin tones as close to a reference as possible. Then I added the eyes they where a lot more open so I cut and pasted parts of them to close them up so they matched the statue. then from another shot I put in the nose which was cut and stretched to fit the statue. The mouth, yet another Image, was put in in two peaces (top and bottom lip) and then made a overlay layer and then an ajustment curve to get the colour. The texture of the skin was made up from about 4 different files, what i did was to use the heal brush to copy the skin from one file to this. This is not easy and takes time and care. I may not show so well here but there are pores in the skin on the face and neck creases and veins all done using this method. The Hair is taken from a shot and is made up of about 6 parts of the same image then darkened in the right places and the edges of the hair are drawn in with a 1 pix brush in various hair tones. The dress is just desaturated and a curve put on to give more contrast. I think that is all, anyway thanks Leah hope this explains a bit better.

OMG Lex! This is truly amazing. I have to say I nearly trashed the one I've been working on for several days when I saw this. Then I read your profile and realized two important things, I'm not a professional retoucher and I haven't been doing this for either 20 or 11 years. So instead of being intimidated; I decided to be inspired by your beautiful work. Again, WOW! thanks for sharing your talent.

Great hair! It's just perfect! Good job on the eyelashes too. And the hand---it needed some molding. You did just GREAT!
