This was not as easy as it first looked - a lot of patching required. I recreated the curtains using colours from the original.

The womans eyes look uneven. Could maybe use some sparkle like the mans. Overall you have done a nice job. I agree with you about it not being as easy at it looked.

Hi Christine

I think you may becoming the resident curtain specialist. Great work. From a previous post I understand how you created the drapes but how did you create the swags (or whatever you call them). I'm getting too old and ornary for all this cloning stuff. On your pic I personally would like to see a bit more contrast. The quality of your work though is outstanding (I've seen some of your other posts)!

Cheers

I really like this one Christine,

I agree with Duv, you're the curtain specialist.
Nice work on the dress, It's very well done.

Would love to hear a more detailed description of your restoration methods. Especially the curtain's. I couldn't do them this well if my life depended on it.

Hi Christine,
First of all, congrats to have the courage to take on this challenge. It's almost a mission impossible. The one comment I would make is when something is so badly damaged & the scan is not great: You simply can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear - so don't push it trying to bring it back to photo quality. Sometimes a little less is better. For example if you leave some of the marks and damage, but not too much, then the photo will seem more real & authentic.
