This type of restoration is mostly cloning and healing brush work.
You have to be careful not to destroy the texture or grain in the image. It easy for areas to start looking "pasty". Use noise to overcome this.
Also you should be a student of fine art, it is important to know how to draw faces, limbs, hi-lights etc. Take a part-time Life Drawing course, I mean the ones with charcoal and easels and nude models, NO COMPUTERS. It will strengthen your abilities.
I focused mainly on the bride & groom, and spent less time on the bkgd.
They are the focus point. I also added a slight halo effect to draw more attention to the happy couple. I also cropped it down a bit, I felt there was too much bkgd, it helps center the couple better as well.

Excellent work Bill. It's even better from my standpoint if you go back and tweak your R,G and B levels.
