George W. Bush is in the middle of one of the most dramatic makeovers in presidential history. I thought maybe we could help.
Whatever your political leanings, I think no one would argue that Mr. Bush would be unlikely to win many beauty contests, but we can fix that. Use all your retouching skill to make him as beautiful and glamorous as you can.
Please keep in mind that the idea is not to ridicule, but to treat Mr. Bush the same dignity and respect we'd provide any world leader that hoped to win a major beauty competition. Leave the background, the cropping, and the pose, but you can change the hair and clothes.
Challenge: Give Mr. Bush a glamour makeover
Do your best to retouch "Mr. America", and post the results here using the following guidelines:
- Make sure you're using the largest version of the Challenge photo
- Enter your name in "Enter a title for the photo"
- Enter the Challenge type and number in "Descriptive Keywords" (ie: "Photo-Art Challenge #501" or "Manipulation Challenge #132"
- Include a complete description of the steps you used under "Photo Description". (You might want to write it elsewhere and paste it here)
- Attach your file as an 800 pixel wide JPG file, compressed so that the overall file is under 200k (this usually means 60% compression).
- Make sure you post to the correct Challenge
- If you expect any comments for your entry, offer your comments to other entries
As always, there are no winners, no losers, no prizes, only a sharing and learning opportunity for everyone.
How you restore and how much you restore is up to you, as long as you fulfill the Challenge. Have fun, and good luck!
NOTE: As is the case for ALL RetouchPRO Challenges, there is NO expiration date on this Challenge. Even after other Challenges go up, feel free to upload your version

What's the point of this, unless you're a very very big fan? I think he looks pretty good as is, but I'm sure he also has a small armada of high paid grapic artist to make him look even better.
He might enjoy a really masculine mouchstache though... (change to hair are allowed..?)

The point is practising, learning, and sharing retouching skills. Plus, remember that beauty contests are for women

I guess I was too subtle. The idea is to retouch him into an attractive woman, but I didn't want to say that outright, fearing we'd get all sorts of silly drag-queen entries.
This is basically the exact same challenge as if a plain-looking woman came to you wanting to look glamourous. I used Mr. Bush because his image is in the public domain and we all recognize it (to better appreciate the retouching) but I was concerned we'd get silly entries to make fun of him.

Doug,
I can't believe you did this. You threw a piece of ....well, meat, to the wolves. This beats Comedy Central. I've never laughed so hard at any series of photos on the Web in my life. Well done.
