Quite hard work, this. I think I may have cheated a bit here, as the first thing I did was to take the original image into Corel Draw. The reason being that I could create a vector container in the shape of each of the pieces of the jigsaw, make 11 duplicates of the image and clip them into the vector shapes. Once done it was really easy to manipulate all the parts into order. Then it was just a case of rasterising the image, so that it could be further fixed in Corel Photopaint.
Fist job there was to put a freehand mask roughly around the side of Lucy's nose that was complete, feather the mask and then create a new object from the selection, flip it, rotate it then position it over the damaged side of the nose. It was a slightly bright so I darkened it a little using the tone curves function.
After that it was a lot of cloning.
I didn't really want to, but I made up some of the 'empty' bits when I was finished and then cropped the image for the sake of composition.

Not cheating at all. You can use any software you need (or hardware for that matter). The only "cheat" I can think of is getting ahold of Lucy
Good work.

Thanks for the comment:o) It was a very enjoyable challenge.
Bit of a wriggler is she? But somehow cats manage to look so angelic. For anyone here who likes (or even dislikes) cats, I'd like to point them in the direction of a book called 'Thelwell's Magnificat' by English cartoonist Norman Thelwell.
