Thank you, I work in Photoshop 7 on a Mac G4, OS X.
This was done mostly with the airbrush tool. I selected a skin color and worked free hand with the airbrush tool in color mode. This changes the color of the pixels but does not paint over the image. I also used the airbrush in color mode for the eyes, lips and sublte skin color variations. Then I used the airbrush in nomal mode to smooth the parts that look like stone. I didnt have time to do realistic hair so I darkened around the face. This project took about an hour and a half. I also used a dry brush filter and then fade dry brush to stylize it a bit.
