I began by layering and masking each and every section of this picture. I then toned, lightened, sharpened, blurred, painted, gradiented, hue/saturated, leveled, and curved on each layer as necessary. Ironically the man's arm that looked the best in the original gave me the most trouble and is still "off" a bit. Also after color sampling, I decided the lady's blouse was green instead of red. Hmmm, I guess I'm just a horse of a different color here. It was most decidedly a difficult challenge and if I learned nothing more than patience and perseverance, then I learned a lot indeed.

You certainly learned more patience and perserverance than I could deal with. I think this has to be one of the nastiest ones for color correction. Although still some color bands on the sides, I think you got some of the truest fleshtones possible without recoloring it from scratch. Good job.

Thank you. This certainly was a difficult challenge. The more I worked with this the worse it became in other areas. I finally decided to quit while I was ahead. That doesn't mean, however, that I'm not still plagued in wondering how to remove the color cast on his arm and still retain integrity in the rest of the picture...even masking didn't help this one.
