I loved working with this matter that this isn't "impressionistic".
First I created four layers. The top layer I turned into a pencil sketch. The layer below it, I used the glowing edges filter. The layer below that I performed a multi-operaton 1. radial blur, 2. Dry brush (twice) 3. Crosshatch 3. Angled strokes 4. Gaussian Blur 5. Photocopy. It looked quite a mess and still does. Without it, I wouldn't have what I ended up with. Returned to the top layer (pencil sketch) and used angled strokes again. Used replace color on flesh tones in the background layer. Merged layers. Duped new background layer and created a mask for the flesh tones on the face. Desatured some of the reds on the face. Returned to background layer and used a hue/sat adj. layer to increase saturation on blues, greens and magentas. It was a lot of fun just to play around and learn from all my trials and errors. I hope you like the result.

This one sure grabbed my attention. I love the bright colors and the texture. Really looks like a painting. Nice!!
