Hello to all...this is my first post here on Retouch Pro. I have been using Photoshop since the purchas of my first digital camera about a year ago. I found it to be quite intimidating at first, but a lot of fun as well.

1. Pasted green channel into the blue.
2. Made seperate layers for the background, faces, and clothes.
3. Blurred background layer, then added noise then blurred agian. I then desaturated it.
4. Fixed damage on each layer with the cloning, patch, and healing tools.
5. I color corrected each layer individually using color balance, curves and levels.
6. I was unhappy with the hair so I made layers for the hair and used curves to color correct them.
7. I used blur and the history brush in blending modes lighten and darken to smooth the skin.
8. Resized and posted.

Thnks to all

Welcome Ryker,

A fine restoration. Strong rich colors and the kids eyes are really sharp.
Four happy kids in a great pose made this photo enjoyable to work on.
I can understand why you picked this one as your first post.

Very nice. I'm working on this one as well and not having as much success you you did. You did a nice job, especially given the fact that this is a picture printed on a texture (canvas I think), which makes is difficult to work with. Good job.

Nice job with the colouring, not easy considering lack of too much information from original image. However, you have lost a bit of detail in the faces, particularly in the upper two figures. Still needs some work to be perfect. The canvas texture does make this difficult.
