This is my first post...bit nervous. This lady really captured my imagination she had the most amazingly knowing eyes.
I didn't do anything anyone else didn't but as I tend to work intuitively (e.g. not always absolutely sure what's going to happen when I press a button) it took me hours ...but basically did following:

1. Converted to greyscale.
2. Put Henrietta on own layer
3. Adjusted levels.
4. Cleaned her up with healing
brush/clone and patch tools.
5. Put in new background, pasted in new skirt.
6. My imagination was running on high by now so thought I'd add a hat!
7. Painted jacket and chairs with soft brush sampling adjacent colours.
7. Changed image to duotone for sepa effect.
8. Added foreground to transparent gradients here and there to lighten the subject.

Rawessence...would it be ok to use this image and restoration for a brochure?

WOW!! You sure know how to enter the challenges with a bang. What a beautiful job of restoring this lovely lady. You have real talent Lidia. I also want to give you credit for giving us an excellent description along with it. Keep up the good work we can all learn some things from you.

thanks so much...that means an awful lot. Was nervous about posting especially as considering starting restoration as a home business here in NZ.
