Working steps: a great bunch of layers in color-mode, done. Took me roundabout 10 hours. Nevertheless I am not really satisfied with the combination of colors... if only I had a better feeling for colors...

Thank you very much, Doug.

The only real selection I did has been the background, using the magical wand.
All other colors are painted manually using the brush without selecting an area before, since most areas seemed too difficult to auto-select something.
