Duped layer and hid original. Inverted working layer. Used color dodge as a blending method. Used Gaussian Blur at 250 on color dodge layer. Desaturated layer. Used filter>brush strokes>spatter set at default. Used filter noise set at 12. Up close, this looks like a stippled portrait...I think. How it posts on the web will be the telling point.

Good work Janet!
This might sound odd, but I particularly like the eyebrows and crinkly eyes in this image.

Thank you all for your comments. Posting did take out the dots. I'm a little bit disappointed that they don't show up better. However, I'm learning from my goofs. The next one will be better.
