"I have been trying to acheive a certain look with this photo with no luck so far.
My Dad passed away 2 weeks ago and we found this old photo of my Dad of when he was in the police force. This is the only photo of him in uniform and because of that, Dad kept this picture in a locked drawer.
I would like to present this to the retouchpro group to help me come up with some nice restoration ideas. My goal is to restore the picture, have it framed, and give it to my Mom as a gift.
To help me acheive my goal with this photo, I would also like to ask that who ever tries their hand at this one... they include the steps they took to acheive their final output.
I would like the photo to retain its antique look.
About the photo:
Dad in Uniform
1945 (after returning home from WW2)
Original Scan @ 1200dpi Epson Perfection 3200
reduced to 300dpi for RetouchPro.com
If wanted, I can upload full 1200dpi scan to whomever wants to try.
1200dpi scan is approx 52MB.
TIA Doug.

- Attach your file as an 800 pixel wide JPG file, compressed so that the overall file is under 200k (this usually means 60% compression).
- Make sure you post to the correct Challenge

As always, there are no winners, no losers, no prizes, only a sharing and learning opportunity for everyone.
How you restore and how much you restore is up to you, as long as you fulfill the Challenge. Have fun, and good luck!
