My b&w was a little smudgy, so I tried to sharpen and define the facial features, hair, and clothes. I didn't think the difference between this and the old one was enough to warrant a 2nd submission, so I colored it.

You made her look 20 again. I'm sure she would be extremely pleased. When this was taken, she had three children aged 10 and under. Good job. I like the cameo you put at the end of the choker.

Thanks Janet and Donna. Janet, she was a beautiful young mum.

In some of theese reconstructions it helps to be an artist and not just a technician. You're an artist. But how did you sharpen without increasing the grain, and how did you do the eyes?

Really beautiful! The colors add a lot to this photo, and you did an excellent job bringing out details and reducing grain!

Thank you Tom and FrannyMae. Tom, I gave her hair a shot of usm (20,50,0) and the rest was manually sharpened by cloning up to selection edges (then blurred the edges with a small brush) or by zooming in and dodging and burning to define blurry edges. The only thing I did to the eyes was define the iris edges with burn and re-create the left highlight on the right - most of the eye detail was revived by Flora's channel mask tutorial.
