This time I have tried to add colour after a tip from Doug C.
Added layer selected different parts of the shot, went to Colour mode. used paint bucket and adjusted saturation and opacity.

Nice touch with the color, Timbo. Better level of detail than many here. Nice job.

Nice work. Like the way you have brought out his hat.

You brought him to life, nice colouring! The badge on his cap is just so clear...very well done to bring out the definition there along with the numbering
and buttons on his jacket.

Very nice clean-up and color job, and I really like how you kept the flakey surface texture (especially on the bg). Your detail work and selection edges look sharp (but not too sharp). Agree with Phillip about the hand-tinting effect, (maybe a bit less yellow on the skin?). The resource section here has a couple of great charts to help with skin and hair colors. http://www.retouchpro.com/pages/colors.html

Nice coloring job, even though Doug mentioned the yellow effect. Good job on the eyes and also in bringing out the detail on the hat pin. Was this guy British Merchant Marine?
