Doug, Exccellent restoration work. very keen observations, and that contribution to the missing face is also a good thing and good think( it may not be resembles to the actual charector) from a talanted person.

This is a fantastic restoration job. I agree - when I first saw this photo I was pretty sure that the adult male had a bushy beard as well.

It's good to see a mastercraftman's work, and here it is. Just perfect Doug.

Doug : I knew you would come up with, as Timbo says "Mastercraftsman's Work)
Brilliant full restoration, I guessed Pa had a beard, but only you could make it so convincing!
You must stay up all night !!!
Cheers Steve

Doug,
that is excellent work, in a very demoralizing way
I keep thinking that I'm getting pretty good at this, then I see a post like that (or one of Flora's posts) and realize that I have a long way to go....

Thanks Blues_X but there's nothing here to be demoralized about - this is mostly pick and shovel cloning that anyone with lots of time and a high boredom threshold can do.

Great restoration Doug,
Every inch of this photo looks perfectly restored.
There is a lot of work in this challenge
I can't believe the speed which you and Steve completed this.
I'll have to start taking steroids to keep up with you two.
Matt

Thanks Matt, I'm on holiday and spent plenty of time on this (was tempted to replace a bunch of the Curry kids with the horses and call it a day).

Hi Doug, I agree with all the comments above, a really excellent job. Only one very minor criticism, the top edge of the tree does not sit into the sky naturally. Perhaps the sky needs darkening slightly, or the sky area between the branches needs lightening a touch.

Thanks Gary, not sure if this addresses your comment or not. The top of the tree was alot lighter and less dense than the rest (where I copied) so I tried to match it better. My sky doesn't look like much but for some reason it took me forever to get it this way - so now it's off limits. Next old sky I'll be trying out your technique.
