This is the Jodrell Bank radio telescope dish...very big in real life. I wanted to use Aricibo which is HUGE and I always imagined would make a great place to board if you didn't exceed lightspeed on the downhill!

Added the sky to the picture..it ended just above the dish on the original. Cropped and inserted the skater. I wanted to have him coming off to the right but the lighting was wrong for that (between him and the dish). Put a motion blur behind him and drew a path into the sky which I stroked with a "dry brush" in white and masked to fade out on his body. Blurred some of his edges to make him less cut-out-looking and then added some stars.

Forgot to mention the extra layer for his shadow on the dish. Blend mode multiply.

This was a fun one to do!

Sweet! I really need to get into workig with paths and masks more. This came out so nice and clean looking! And I really like your stars-how did you do them?

The stars were a photoshop brush. I can't remember if they were included with Photoshop 7 or if I downloaded them from somewhere. I think they were a download..."flare brushes by Karl S2" If you search the net I bet you'll find them available for free download somewhere. The one I used was the "6 pointed star" in various sizes. I use these brushes a lot to add sparkle to things - they're my favourite set.
