Well, I can't say whether this qualifies for Goth Art or not. I just thought it came out kinda cool.
I started with a photo I had taken of some cactus (you can still barely make it out.) I started by duplicating the layer and then applied various filters including Plastic Wrap and Median and Hue/Saturation (for the latter I colorized to a chrome-like hue.) Then I blended the two cactus layers using the Pin Light layer property.
For the skull, I found a texture online that I liked, desaturated the texture and applied it to the skull, also using the Pin Light layer property. (I love that one.) I played around a bit more with layer opacities until I achieved whatever affect I seemed in the mood for. I also applied a drop shadow, of course.
That's it.

Great job on the skull. Good choice of color and pattern. Background is wild.
