I duplicated the original and blurred it to get a version for the History Brush to remove spots. Did some patching on the uniform. Copied the right shoulder and flipped it to create a fold for the right shoulder. Used the dodge tool on the numbers and buttons, primarily used the clone tool to clean up the background. Did some more touch up and added a frame.
This is my first restoration, other than when I followed step-by-step instructions in a book, so be kind No, seriously, I'm looking for any tips you can offer.
I think you did a very good job on the face restoration. It could maybe use a little smoothing over the left eye, but really great work!

Very nice job (first or not). You managed to keep all the texture of the original including the reconstructed left corner area. I also like how you rebuilt the left arm without any obvious flips from the right.
