Duped background layer and created a line drawing by:
1. increasing contrast drastically
2. Smart Blur Edge Only
3. Inverted
4. Stylize, Diffuse, Anisotropic
5. Added a layer mask
6. Added a layer filled with white below the line layer
7. Went back to line layer and created a mask.
8. Painted with black on the mask to get rid of unwanted extra lines and dots
9. Merged down.
10. Turned that layer off
11. Created another copy of the background
12. Created a snapshot
13. Filled the background duplicate with white
14. Selected the Art history brush and began painting. Used several different brushes and opacity settings.
15. Created a blank layer above the newly painted one and merged visible.
16. Used the impressionist plugin and erased lightly where I wanted more detail.
17. Turned back on the line layer. Lines were not thick enough, so I used unsharp mask then duplicated the layer setting the new layer to multiply. Then merged those two layers.
18. Created another merged visible layer
19. Created a new layer and filled it with 50% gray using the overlay mode.
20. Painted on the gray layer with a combination of dodge and burn in areas where there needed to be more definition.
21. Added another gray layer with the canvas texture and overlaid the texture onto the painting.
