Doug, Excellent... the addition to the basic image is now well balancing and got a new look... But the ambience of the original picture is some thing defferent I think. It is not a problem to appreciate this fantastic restoration...............

Thanks Vijayan, I suspect this challenge will result in many (quite different) interpretations. Looking forward to your take.

Great work... excellent! You did a great job on this, the restoration of the left wall looks like real, and you worked wonders on the faces.

Great work Doug,
For the life of me I couldn't make any sense
out of the weird structures on the left and right.
I really like what you've done with it.
I only have 19 hours work left on this 20-hour restoration.
I'm hoping to finish it before Christmas.

Thank you Marc, Matt and Mark. Matt, I was convinced it was a house with window, awning and air-conditioner. Looking again, I'm pretty sure now it's an ATM - maybe you should go with that.

I cannot beliwve how well you restored the faces of the baby and mom. I have been working on this forever and my mom's pic looks like a completely different person. Great work! One newbie question though, what do you mean by applied usm to the image?

Thanks Neve and Angie. Angie, un-sharp mask filter (if you use photoshop a setting of amount=20, radius=50, threshold=0 is often used to enhance contrast). Works great on flat or fuzzy pics. Faces are tough sometimes - I'm still fiddling with mom's smile.

Thanks Doug. I have used the unsharp mask filter but didn't recognize the abbreviation. I appreciate you taking the time to explain it.

Thank you Steve - hope you have to time to join in! Angie, I suspected as much - my real job has conditioned me to over-use TLA's (three letter acronyms).

I am speechless! I saw the pic and decided not to go with it.
Great Job.

Nice one Doug. Not much else to say that hasn't already been said.
