Very nicely done. I like that you put them on another layer, recreated the missing edges the made the table and wall to set them on.

Well err aah let me see. its been a while and I sort of forgot. But it does go something like this:
Make a new photoshop file and fill the canvas with pink or purple. Then on a new layer Paint with a big brush like photoshops hard pastel canvas. And then in the brush settings select color dynamics and activate Hue, and Saturaytion Jitter. Spray it around and then to polish it off a motion blur filter with the motion vertical (for the background.)
Thats pretty close to what I did I believe.
