1. Crop then Duplicate original (I always work on a copy of the Background layer) - Copy Green channel into Blue Channel.
2. Mask the shirt and run a levels to reduce the color cast
3. Adjust Contrast
4. Levels adjustment to lighten face and then Mask the effect and paint it back in with white.
5. To fix the green cast in the hair, Adjust the Green Channel in Levels, Mask and paint back
6 Repeat in the red channel to reduce the highlight.
7. A final Curves Adjustment to tweak the contrast (ya gotta love "S" curves)

You did a fine job on this challenge and a great description. The only thing I see that could use a little more work is her shirt, looks a bit pink to me.
