Wow! This one is badly under-exposed. I looked at the color channels.
Green was too dark and blue was dark and grainy.
I tried three different methods of replacing damaged
channels with good channels. Then I fiddled with channel mixer.
These methods work wonders in Photoshop Restoration books.
But when I try them they don’t make a dramatic improvement.
I thought, “That’s enough nonsense” I’ll try this the simple way.
I duped the original and changed the blend mode to screen to lighten.
Then I selected red in Hue & Sat. and reduced intensity.
This helped, but some red remained and the other colors were washed out.
The only way I could think of to improve the look of this photo
was to make separate selections and re-color.
I selected the suit and used Hue & Sat. to color it brown.
Same procedure for the dress, shirt and background etc.
It was tough going bringing the man’s face out of the shadows.
I selectively sharpened the eyes and removed glass reflections.

Great skin tones! Also the suit looks very good. Great job.

Swampy - Put a little more yellow into the man's skin. Hope it looks ok.
The eyes looked a little dull. So I zoomed in and lightened the eye whites
before sharpening.
Margaret - After trying to remove the color cast the suit looked an
awful color. I just had to do something about it.

Matt,
I like the rosy pink colour on the lady's face. How long did you spend on doing the selection? I can imagine the pain of doing such detailed selection. Great job!

ckc108 – You asked me how long I spent on
my detailed selection of the ladies face.
The answer is about 10 seconds.
I used the Quickmask brush – size 50 – and painted over the darker areas on her face. This gave me a soft edged selection.
Then came Levels and I lightened her face with the mid-tone slider.
If any area I lightened looked a little pale I used levels to add a little color.
Used the same method to lighten and even the man’s skin tone.
