This took at least 20 hours. Most of the work for me was cloning and patching, and lots of figuring out what was in the background. I duplicated the eyes of the baby and the woman, flipped them and positioned them on the faces. More blending and cloning. I made a levels adjustment layer. I used the burn tool a lot to bring out details. I also added some noise so that everything did not look so smooth.
I think I lost track of all the little steps that I did on this piece. I hope my description makes sense.
Excellent job! I know what you mean about losing track of how you did the restoration by the time you're finished. I like the way the cement wall on the woman's side of the picture came out. The people look great. The only small suggestion I have would be to straighten the picture using slanted wall in the middle.

You are right. The wall of the building is not straight. I was so focused on detail, I did not notice that.
