1. Crop more tightly.
2. Copy background image.
3. Use high pass filter on copy; set blend to Vivid Light; stamp image to new layer "Stamped".
4. Move layer with high pass filter above the stamped image; stamp again to new layer "Stamped again".
5. Set blend of "Stamped again" layer to Color Dodge; stamp again to new layer "Dodged".
6. Reset blend of "Stamped again" layer to Normal.
7. Set blend of "Dodged" layer to Color.
8. Create new layers representing the Red, Green, and Blue channels of the image, named eponymously.
9. Apply the "Poster Edges" filter from Filter Gallery to "Red", "Green", and "Blue," with all sliders set
to max.
10. With "Red", "Green", and "Blue" visible, in ascending order, set the blend mode for "Green" and "Blue" to
Linear Dodge.
11. Stamp to new layer "Combined".
12. Create a new layer set. Drag a copy of "Combined" to it; Drag a copy of "Dodged" to it. Set the "Dodged
copy" blend to Luminosity. Set the layer's blend to Lighten its opacity to 69%. Stamp visible to a new
layer "NewImage". Set only this image to visible.
13. Add Curves adjustment layer; fiddle with curves.
14. Stamp new image "Clone".
15. Use extract tool to mask a copy of "Clone", entitled "Crosshatch"; delete background; clean up with
eraser.
16. Mask forehead, apply curves.
17. Create mask from "Crosshatch", apply to "Clone" and delete background.
18. Make copy of "Crosshatch."
19. Set "Crosshatch" blend to Color Burn, Opacity 50%.
20. Set "Crosshatch copy" blend to Color Dodge, opacity 43%.
21. Stamp copy to new layer. Add curves layer, modify to intensify contrast and lines.
22. Modify with white and black brushes.
