Did auto-levels (would really like to know why auto-levels works great on some colour pics (like this one) and crappy on others), then a bunch of selective levels/colour balance layers with alt-masks and white brush to paint adjustments in where I wanted them. Mucho cloning to remove red and white blotches, and some masked hue/saturation layers to try to even out the colour castes in a few areas. Did a 'neat image' filter with sharpening, and a masked usm applied on plants, facial features and body/clothing edges. Final auto-levels with 65% opacity.

Very clean restore Doug. The straightening was a masterful touch. I guess most of us would have missed that, but now thanx to you, we wont

I would have tried a white balance before i started messing around if only to get an idea of the original colors.

Very nice. Attention to the many details. Colors nicely restored and not too intense and natural appearing. Sharpening appears to be right on. I know lots of time and effort went into your project.

The skin tones are spot on
and the whole photo has a great over all look.

This looks spot on to me.The warm shades really work and you must have spent a long time getting everything balanced.

what is "neat image"? I've seen that on some other descriptions and I don't know what it is. Can anybody tell me about it?

I like the color here and the overall smooth look of the picture. Very well done.
