1. Cropped, desaturated, then cloned and patched.
2. I then used levels and curves to bring out contrast and details. I copied the layer and ran a high pass filter over it, and then I used the overlay mode to sharpen some of details. I adjusted the opacity until it looked right and then merged the layers.
3. I used the burn and dodge tool to continue to bring out detail, and then I added some noise.
4. I love the look of vintage photos, but I thought that this image would look nice with some soft color. I made some layers in color mode and colored each area, adjusting each as I went along.

Very good restoration work Cathy,
The original was a small grainy and blurred photo.
Enlarging makes matters worse, but you have done a great
job giving it a clean and sharp appearance.
Especially like the colors on the brick wall. I botched that.

Cathy, Nice touch with the subtle color. I especially like the colorization of the brick, it looks really natural to me. Well done. :up:
