I lost my original description when I edited. I'll learn how to do this yet! Here it goes:
Grayscale copy, then back to RGB. Lots of cloning, patching, and dodge and burn to bring out details. I made many layers for the coloring, and then did more dodge and burn. I went back and blurred the cow (thanks, Caitlin) and got it off her shoulder. I also saturated the foreground color to bring it forward, and lightened the background slightly to push it back.

Ah - I was wondering where my comment went! I still like it! Those subtle colour variations are great.

Beautiful job of colorizing this Cathy. Subtle, realistic and not overpowering. Love it.

Very nicely done, a great job on a tough one. The color, tone, detail is just perfect. This is the most realistic restore on this post that I've seen.

Great work Cathy. Especially like the improved definition in her face, as well as the dog and the cows on the left.

A very nice work Cathy! I guess it takes some time and practice to achieve this.
