This is a great picture to play with! New Mexico is one of my favorite places so I had a lot of my own photographs to work with. First I trimmed it a bit then copied the background as a new layer. I used some adobe buildings from another picture to clone adobe texture and color into the walls. I then I added the ristra (the dried chile peppers) and the cactus (I think it is called a walking stick cholla). I added the shadows for both and then pasted in the wall decoration. After that it was generally a matter of just tinting the picture. I tired to use colors that kept the older feel.
