Desaturated, removed baclground and replaced with another from an old photo. Next...clone, clone clone. Levels, dodge and burn, add a sepia tone layer. More dodge and burn and curves. Used a dust and scratches filter on a dup layer and used it to smooth the noise. I started this a month ago and put it aside because it was taking forever, so I am sure that I have forgotten something.

Very nicely done. I did this one a while back so I know it's a bear. Great restoration!

Thanks Wayne and Margaret. This was one of the hardest ones that I have done.

Hi Cazubi!
Nice restoration. Very difficult one. But the subject, face and background are restored nicely and smoothly that any body can?t claim that it was a badly damage picture.Excelent work and that?s why you?re the ?guru?.
Thanks

You've done it again,Cathy. You must surely have the patience of a saint!
I love the background-it has that turn of the century look for some reason.Have you ever thought of taking this up as a hobby?
P.S. Those WOW books are expensive over here in the UK!

Thanks chanchalbd and David. It took a LONG time to finish.

David: Try http://www.amazon.com/ to find the Wow books. You can even pick up used ones (make sure the CD in there) for as little as $21.00 US. I don't know about shipping costs.

Cathy,

Superb job on Henrietta. There's no quick fix for this one. You're careful, detailed work is evident.

Thank you Annabel. You did such beautiful work on yours, that I knew mine would have to be able hold up next to it.
