I divided this image into 3 basic layer copies and isolated the background, the face and hair and the uniform and cap. Each individual layer was colourised using hue and saturation and then the face was touched up with a bit of dodge and burn and some colour added to the lips. A copy of the eyes was placed on the 4th layer and were coloured.
