Ran sketch routine on separate layer (http://www.escrappers.com/pencilsketch.htm). Duplicated the base layer. Set top layer to Value (using GIMP) and merged down. Duplicated base layer and desaturated top layer. Lowered opacity to taste (overall color desaturation, but still color). Then flattened. Ran Flaming Pear's Pixel Trash on base layer. Duplicated top layer. Set Top layer the Hue. Set middle layer to saturation. Duplicated base layer. Merged Top three layers. Duplicated Top layer. Adjusted top layer's opacity to 50% and second layer to 20%. Erased around the edge of top layer and flattened. Hope you all can follow that.
