I quite like the darker, moodier version but thought I should provide a lighter option... any preference?

This is excellent, you must have put in a lot of time on this. By-the-way, I prefer this to the darker one.

Cheers Timbo... it took about 10 hours I expect. Maybe a bit less, but not much. My monitor went on the blink and so I was forced to use a laptop. And of course, depending on your angle to the screen, a pic can look lighter or darker. Hence the slight scew up on my previous post.

Yep pretty much went over everything by hand... now that I look back there's quite a bit left to do but you've got to stop somewhere.

A late comment on this one Peth,
Wonderful work on the lower half of this photo.
A top class restoration.
This is a restorers nightmare.
Grainy, blurred and badly damaged.
I saw how much work was in it and headed for the exit.
